Tire Maintenance Tips

Tires are an essential part of your vehicle’s performance. When they are not properly maintained, they can drain your car’s efficiency and reduce your safety. The easiest way to stay on top of tire maintenance is to schedule routine maintenance with Graff Chevrolet in Grand Prairie, Texas. We’ll take care of all the things on this list:
- Rotate your tires: Rotate your tires at every oil change (3,000 to 5,000 miles) to help ensure even wear on all four tires.
- Check tire pressure regularly: While we will check your tire pressure and properly inflate or deflate during your regular service, we highly recommend you do this on your own monthly, if not weekly. If you notice your tires are constantly losing pressure, you may need to patch them or replace them.
- Check the tread: If your tread depth is too low, you will not be able to grip the road and will thus lose control of your vehicle. We will monitor your tires’ tread depth at every visit and let you know when it’s time to replace your tires, but you can always perform a tread depth test on your own using the old penny trick.
- Pay attention to anything “off”: If your tires are shaking, pulling in a specific direction, or making an unusual noise, bring your vehicle in for service.
