For years and years, rumors have stirred in online forums and on social media that General Motors would announce an all-electric version of its beloved Chevrolet pickup truck. After all the speculation was finally confirmed, it appears that GM is preparing to officially unveil the all-electric 2023 Silverado at the beginning of 2022.

General Motors announced that it will introduce the all-new, all-electric 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV at CES 2022 in Las Vegas on Jan. 5. Until the Silverado EV is totally unmasked, we’ll have only seen bits and pieces of the game-changing pickup – an all-glass roof, neat 24-inch wheels, and a sneaky silhouette.

About the Silverado EV

We do know a few other things about the elusive EV truck. It will be produced at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck Factory Zero plant, which is the same facility that is expected to produce other GM EV models. It’s also going to be built upon the Ultium platform that produces zero emissions.

The 2023 Chevy Silverado EV has Four-Wheel Steer, a system that lets the wheel turn all four tires at once for better traction, handling, and towing. Speaking of its performance pedigree, the Silverado EV is expected to have a range approaching 400 miles on a single charge.
